At Sheetal Metals, quality begins with precise control of the metal composition. Our Metal Power MOSS Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) enables rapid and accurate elemental analysis of metals and alloys, helping us maintain consistent material quality throughout the manufacturing process.
By analysing the chemical composition of aluminium alloys, we can verify critical alloying elements and ensure that the material meets the required specifications before it enters the production process.
Metal Power MOSS Spectrometer
Precision Testing. Faster Analysis. Better Quality Control.
The Metal Power MOSS is a compact and powerful Optical Emission Spectrometer designed for elemental analysis of metals and alloys. It supports analysis across multiple metal bases, including aluminium, steel, cast iron, copper, nickel, zinc and other alloys.
Its advanced testing capability helps Sheetal Metals monitor material composition and maintain consistency from raw material to finished component.
Why Metal Testing Matters
The chemical composition of an aluminium alloy directly influences its casting performance, strength, durability and overall component quality. Precise composition control allows us to:
- Verify incoming raw material quality
- Confirm alloy composition before casting
- Monitor critical alloying elements
- Maintain batch-to-batch consistency
- Reduce material-related casting defects
- Support reliable production quality
- Ensure compliance with specified material grades

The system can analyse 30+ elements across different metal bases, making it suitable for a wide range of material-testing requirements.
Aluminium Alloy Testing
Precise elemental analysis helps verify important alloying elements in aluminium materials and maintain the required composition.
High Accuracy & Repeatability
Consistent analytical results support reliable material verification and process control.
Grade Identification
The MOSS ecosystem includes grade-identification capabilities with a large alloy-grade library, helping operators identify and verify material grades efficiently.
Efficient Quality Control
Fast in-house testing helps reduce dependency on external laboratories and enables quicker production decisions.
Our Metal Testing Process
01. Sample Preparation
A representative metal sample is prepared with a suitable surface for spectrometer analysis.
02. Sample Testing
The prepared sample is placed in the spectrometer’s testing chamber.
03. Optical Emission Analysis
The OES uses a controlled spark to excite atoms in the sample and analyses the resulting emission spectrum to determine elemental composition.
04. Composition Verification
The measured elemental concentrations are compared with the required alloy specifications.
05. Quality Approval
The test results are used as part of our material and production quality-control process.
